Template License
Effective date: June 2, 2026
1. Agreement
This Template License (the “License”) governs your use of Digital Starters templates, source files, components, assets, documentation, configuration files, AI harness files, and related materials (the “Templates”). By cloning, downloading, copying, modifying, deploying, or using a Template, you agree to this License.
If you use a Template for an employer, company, or client, you confirm that you are allowed to accept this License for them.
2. License Grant
Subject to this License and the Terms of Use, Digital Starters grants you a limited, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use Templates that you lawfully access during an active access period.
“Perpetual” means you may keep using copies you lawfully cloned or downloaded, even after your access plan expires, unless this License is terminated because you breached it.
3. What You May Do
You may:
- use Templates for unlimited personal, business, internal, commercial, and client projects;
- modify, customize, combine, compile, and deploy Templates;
- build websites, landing pages, business pages, applications, and similar finished projects;
- deliver a finished project to a client;
- remove Digital Starters attribution from finished projects unless a specific Template says otherwise;
- continue using lawfully cloned Templates after your access plan expires.
4. What You May Not Do
You must not:
- sell, resell, sublicense, publish, upload, leak, open-source, share, or redistribute a Template as a standalone product, repository, boilerplate, theme, starter kit, component library, or downloadable file;
- make a Template available in a way that lets others copy, clone, download, extract, or reuse it outside a finished project;
- share private GitHub repository access, invitations, credentials, source files, or private Template contents with unauthorized people;
- submit Templates to public marketplaces, freebies sites, package registries, template directories, asset libraries, or file-sharing services;
- use Templates to create or operate a competing template marketplace, starter-kit catalog, AI-template service, website builder, or similar product;
- claim the original Template itself as your own standalone template product;
- remove third-party notices where third-party licenses require them;
- use Templates for unlawful, infringing, malicious, fraudulent, defamatory, or harmful purposes.
5. Client Work
You may use Templates to create finished projects for clients. You may hand off the finished project to the client for that client’s use and maintenance. This does not let you give the client the Template as a reusable source kit, template repository, boilerplate, or standalone product.
If a client wants access to private Digital Starters repositories, future updates, new Templates, or support, the client needs its own access plan unless we agree otherwise in writing.
6. Ownership
You own your original content, branding, custom code, and modifications. Your client may own the finished project if your agreement with that client says so.
Digital Starters keeps ownership of the original Templates, source systems, repository structures, documentation, AI harness files, examples, sample content, and related intellectual property. No ownership in the original Templates transfers to you or your client.
7. Third-Party Materials
Templates may include or reference third-party libraries, packages, images, fonts, icons, frameworks, or services. Those materials may have their own licenses. You are responsible for complying with those third-party licenses in your projects.
8. Expiration and Termination
When your access plan expires, you may lose access to private repositories, downloads, updates, new releases, and support. Your license to keep using lawfully cloned Templates continues unless you breach this License.
If you breach this License, your rights may terminate automatically. Upon termination for breach, you must stop using the affected Templates and delete copies if requested. We may also revoke repository access and pursue available legal remedies.
9. No Warranty
THE TEMPLATES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIGITAL STARTERS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SECURITY, ERROR-FREE OPERATION, COMPATIBILITY, AND AVAILABILITY.
You are responsible for reviewing, testing, securing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting anything you build with a Template.
10. Liability Limit
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIGITAL STARTERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS; LOST REVENUE; LOST DATA; BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; OR LOSS OF GOODWILL ARISING FROM ANY TEMPLATE OR THIS LICENSE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY RELATING TO ANY TEMPLATE OR THIS LICENSE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE ACCESS PLAN THROUGH WHICH YOU OBTAINED THE TEMPLATE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Digital Starters and its owners, operators, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your projects, client work, misuse or redistribution of Templates, breach of this License, violation of law, or infringement of third-party rights.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update this License by posting a revised version. The version in effect when you lawfully clone or download a Template governs that copy unless you accept a later version. Questions may be sent to hello@digitalstarters.dev.
